CEO Mommy Class 2: DIY Decorative Wooden Blocks

So remember the DIY class I previously talked about? Well it has officially been named!
I would ask for your thoughts on it, but I'm too scared to hear anyone say anything negative or suggest something better, so that's the name :)

I've been able to hold two more classes since I last posted about it and I am so excited to share with you all what we've been working on! In our June class we created some adorable DIY wooden blocks, the same idea as the ones I created for LBJ's room

They are so easy to make and are an adorable nursery decoration or can be put on display in your home.

Supplies needed:

Step 1:
Decide how many blocks you plan to use, and what words or images you want to create with the blocks.

For our class, each person was given 8 blocks. When deciding what letters to use, remember each block has 6 sides so possibilities are {almost} endless! I really liked what Ginger @ Ginger Snap Crafts created with her letters. Using this guide, you can create all of these 16 words: Family, Blessed, Snow, Home, Harvest, Spooky, Winter, Mother, Dream, Easter, Freedom, Welcome, Friends, Faith, Hope, Monster. And still have two sides per block left for shapes!
Step 2:
If you're planning to paint your blocks, gather your paint supplies and paint them now. The first set of blocks I created I did not paint and I loved the look. For the class, however, I decided to add a little pop of color to the blocks I created.
I used Acrylic Paint by Craft Smart, which I love using for projects. It dries really quickly and is easy to clean up if anything drips or spills.

Step 3:
Once the paint dries {about 5-15 mins for Craft Smart paint depending on how many coats} you can begin to adhere your letters. I used Silhouette Vinyl to create letters for the class. If you don't have a Silhouette cutter, you can also use regular stickers, such like these ones
And that's it, you're finished! Like I said, this is an easy project yet adds so much to a room. Check out what other members of the class created!
Don't you just love the uniqueness of everyone's blocks {and how adorable are their babies!!}? What would you create with your blocks?
