Bridesmaid Emergency Kits {plus DIY Knotted Hair Ties}

I really wanted to give my bridesmaids the world for agreeing to be part of our wedding. They traveled near and far to be there to support me that day/weekend and it meant everything to me having each of them there. Rather than the world, I settled on some jewelry, clutches, scarves, and a bag for the beach {read more about where to purchase these items here}.
I really wanted to add the Bridesmaid Minimergency kits into the clutches for each girl, however it was going to cost over $100 and I was just tired of spending money to be honest {weddings are expensive, check out some other ways to save here}. Instead, I opted to include just a few of those items in each clutch.

A couple band aids, hair pins, and hair ties seemed just right for what they may need that day. We also had supplies available in the ladies room, just in case other emergencies came up.
The supplies may have been more beneficial to me than the girls because at several different points in the night, I ran to a bridesmaid and asked her to repin part of my hair, or to use their band aid. I guess maybe I should have just purchased myself the Bride Minimergency kit, but oh well, we all survived.
The knotted hair ties are my favorite parts of the insert. I don't know it you have seen the craze of new hair ties, but they're being sold everywhere here in the city {which must mean they're hip, right?} While they are adorable, I'm not going to spend $6 for 3 hair ties, ever.

So off to Michael's craft store! I picked up two different patterns of elastic ribbon {$2.99 each}.
Then I wrapped a small portion around my wrist, snipped, and tied.
I used a lighter to burn the edges so they don't fray.
And just like that, I had 14 hair ties {plus two for me, and a headband} with plenty of elastic left over for other projects.
I absolutely love these little guys and they are so comfortable to wear. No more ripping half your hair out when taking down a ponytail.

Money Saved: $150+ {if getting minimergency kits and knotted hair ties}
Time: 15 minutes
