DIY Mini Vase

Some of you may know that two weeks ago was my Bachelorette party {sooo much fun!!}. Cleaning up after a bachelorette party? No sooo much fun. But this is not about the bachelorette party, this is about the overzealous friend/family member who decided to pack her own mini bottles of booze, just in case there wasn't enough {you know who you are, don't deny it}. Anyway, I found one of the small bottles of vodka just a few days ago {empty} and it just made me smile. It immediately made me think of my party, but also little things just make me smile. I didn't want to just toss it out, because I have serious issues with sentimental items.
I was in the process of dumping the flowers seen in the background when I found the bottle. One or two of the flowers were still thriving and beautiful, but the rest of the bouquet was dead to the world and starting to stink. Then, the ah-ha moment came. Mini bottle + flower = small, simple beauty.

I spray painted the bottle with this Teal Rust-Oleum spray paint. I picked up this spray paint several weeks ago when I ran out of white from a previous project {link here}. I had no immediate plans for the color, but I just loved it so much and knew I could work it in on some project, some day.
Can we talk about those beautiful spring colors together? Wow. I just love, love, love the bright colors!
This whole project was SO easy, too. Even if you don't have a small bottle of booze, here's an excuse to treat yourself. Imagine how cute this could be with the mini champagne or wine bottles. So many possibilities!
I love how well it goes with my new favorite coffee mug too {thank you C. Wonder 75% off sale}. A little project that goes a long way. Just a few simple steps:
  1. Rinse and clean the bottle
  2. Peel the label off, use a little goo-gone to take off the glue
  3. Spray it
  4. Add flower

Also, I'm starting to think that vodka is good for flowers... I put this flower in the bottle on Monday of this week, it's still looks this beautiful! Maybe something to consider...

Cost: Free!
Time: 5 minutes + paint drying time

I just love this, have I mentioned that? Have you ever reused an old booze bottle for something creative? What have you done to add some spring colors to your home lately?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. I have a few tiny bottles similar to that. I think I will have to try this! Having flowers popping around the house sure would make me happy.
