CEO Mommy: Craft Pumpkins

This month for our CEO Mommy class, we designed craft pumpkins to get in the spirit of fall. This project has very few steps and is really all about getting creative. Supplies vary depending on what you want to create. I think I may have overwhelmed some of the moms with the number of options available, but there's just so many exciting things to create! I was so impressed with what they came up with!

Trick or Treat Pumpkin
Supplies:
Pumpkin / Brush Stencil / Paint pen / Pencil
Step 1:
Trace {or free hand} the letters for Trick and Treat.

Step 2:
Then simply go over the letters using a paint pen.
Step 3:
Add more embellishments if desired, such as spiders, a web, polka dots.

Glitter Pumpkin
Supplies:
Pumpkin / GlitterGlue
Step 1:
{Want to try it freehand? Skip to step 2!}
Print out the letter or number you'd like to create, make sure to print it large enough to fit the pumpkin, which is 9 inches.

Flip the printed-paper over and trace the letter with pencil {for white pumpkin} or chalk {for black pumpkin}. Make sure to have a thick coat. Then press the back of the paper to the pumpkin. You should be able to see a faint transfer of the outline of your letter.

Step 2: Trace the letter on the pumpkin with glue. Try not to make the glue too thick; otherwise it will start to run.

Step 3:

Cover the glue with desired glitter. Then just wait to dry!
Once the glue is dry you can start brushing off the glitter either using a small brush or your fingers.

Rhinestone Pumpkin
Supplies
Pumpkin / Rhinestones / Glue
Step 1:
To create a spider web, first outline a large "cross" shape with rhinestones. Then create an "X" through the cross you've created.

Step 2:
Using smaller rhinestones, connect the web in two places. Try to create a slight bend in the connecting line.

Polka Dot Pumpkin
Supplies:
Pumpkin / Paint / Stencil Sponges
Step 1:
The one and only step, dip your sponge in paint and start polka dotting! You can also experiment with different kinds of paints for different looks.
Glitter paint
Puffy Paint

Tack Pumpkin
Supplies
Pumpkin / Tacks
Step 1:
You can either do this freehand, or follow the same steps as the Glitter Pumpkin.

Print out the word you'd like to create, make sure to print it large enough to fit the pumpkin, which is 9 inches.

Flip the printed-paper over and trace the word with pencil {for white pumpkin} or chalk {for black pumpkin}. Make sure it's a thick coat. Then press the back of the paper to the pumpkin. You should be able to see a faint transfer of the outline of your word.

Step 2: Follow the outline with tacks to create your word.
You can also use the tacks to add character to other pumpkin designs like this mommy did with her Spider Pumpkin.

What kind of pumpkin would you create? Can you think of other possibilities?

Thanks for visiting!
