A few weeks ago, I purged my cosmetic organizer and went minimal with my makeup {you can read more about that here}. While I had no need for my makeup organizer anymore, I couldn't bring myself to just get rid of it. So I stowed it away until an idea for its new use came to light.
Well an idea came! During one of my deep cleans {when I go organizer crazy and basically turn the place upside-down, Brit loves these days}, I stumbled upon this in one of our office room drawers.
Just for a little point of reference, here are our "office" drawers. They're more of a cheap end table with canvas bins than a luxurious set of office furniture, but who has money for an upgrade now?

Now for a quick review:
Cost: free, my absolute favorite. However, if you're wanting the exact same look, you can use this cosmetic organizer.
Time: 15 minutes. Once I figured out I could use the makeup organizer, I was able to place everything in a snap. All in just enough time to sit at the desk and watch the sun go down.
What would a sunset in NYC be without a couple cranes to add a little silhouette?
Any recent DIY or repurposing done on your end? Do you have any unique ways you've organized office supplies?
Thanks for visiting!

I have actually always hated that drawer. It's been a pain in a half to try to keep organized {obviously} and it's far too deep to adequately store all of our office supplies. Enter {repurposed} Cosmetic Organizer!
Who knew an object made to store makeup could store stationary and office supplies so well?
I love how easy it is for me to grab a binder clip or paperclip now. Before, I was literally digging.
And the pens, oh the bright, colorful and vibrant pens. Am I the only one who LOVES a ridiculous assortment of colors in my pens?
Ok, let's talk about why I love this {because I haven't said enough already}!
- First of all, it's so much easier to access everything. With it all right there within arm's reach I'm so much more motivated to actually sit down at the desk and work.
- The bright colors. I loved all the colored post-its, paperclips, pins and pens, but they were hidden away. Now they really pop out and practically beg me to use them :)
- I'm reusing the cosmetic organizer! Waste not, want not. Right?
- Everything I need and/or use on a daily basis fit nicely right in the organizer. It's an organizer's dream.

I'm catching up on several weeks of not getting on your blog, and it's so refreshing! :) We've started keeping our paint brushes and markers out on the desk as well and it's amazing how much more our creativity has been sparked. They do beg to be used when they're all pretty and right out in the open :) Any ideas for how to store printer paper, envelopes, and card stock? Can't seem to find a way where they won't be creased at the edges from being stored. Thanks!

Paper, envelopes, and card stock are definitely not easy. We just started storing ours in the white file organizer seen in the Getty Craft With Cork post:

Here's one like it, but I got mine at Staples for a little cheaper ;)

You could also use an expanding file from Target, I picked up a few in their $1 section that have adorable designs and patters. They have all kinds of sizes, too.

As always, thanks for reading Sarah!
