{You know it's bad when your medicine cabinet makes you sick!} |
Because it's so cluttered and not so easy to get to, we often leave things out that we use most often {thus defeating the purpose of having a container for them}. Also, with so much inside the bin, it makes it very difficult to locate exactly what we're looking for.
The first aid containers were a perfect solution for our medicine bin makeover {at only $4.99 each, too!!} Plus ,they're so darn cute it makes the area below our sink look so much more inviting.
First things first though, time to unload! I set everything out on our table and started to categorize the items. We have a lot of ailments to say the least {it comes with getting older}.
I purchased three containers because that's how many would fit back into the space. I knew I had to try my best to fit everything, but I was willing to go back for a couple more to stack on top if necessary {the containers are great for stacking by the way}.
Luckily, I didn't need to do that! I did purchase one more container though {you may remember it's sister from our kitchen cupboard update}. One without a lid on top that would be incredibly easy to just pull out and grab whatever was in it. This became our "Frequently Used" bin.

{stomach aches, skin creams, cold remedies, pain relievers, allergy meds...} |

{Advil, Vitamin C, Pepcid and some NyQuil make up this bin. Unfortunately we use those way more than we'd like to} |
I created the label from just paper and tape {clearly} because I wanted it to somewhat match how I labeled the others {see below}. Plus, this makes it a lot easier for me to answer Brit when he asks "where is the (fill in the blank)?". Although you would think the clear container would help with this, sometimes I find it's just easier to make things as simple as humanly possible.
I then took on the first aid containers. Keeping simple labels in mind, I tried to label each container using language that we use when describing our specific ailments. For example, we often say we have a "Bad Belly" when referring to stomach aches, gas, indigestion, stomach cramping, etc. So I filled this container will relief meds for everything previously mentioned.
{Can anyone else fill a container with their Bad Belly meds? Geesh, it's a bit embarrassing} |
Lastly, our "Aches & Pains" {we're both under 30 right now yet we have a container for our aches and pains? Not a good sign!!}. This mainly consists of skin creams. No, not the kinds of age defying creams you may be thinking of, it's more of the bug bite, sore muscles, and itch relief, variety.
Now our medicine "cabinet" consists of small medicine containers organized into categories. Once we've identified our ailment, it is easy to grab what we need and remedy the situation promptly! The area under our sink looks so much nicer {and cuter!!} now as well. All in all, it's been a great addition to our fresh new bathroom.{Below the bathroom sink it never a glamours space, but these little additions sure do make a difference} |
